Troubleshooting

Common setup issues and quick checks.

1
Connection fails or shows as not connected
Verify your Dynamics URL and Azure AD app credentials.
Checklist:
  • Organization URL is correct (e.g., https://<org>.crm.dynamics.com).
  • Client Secret is valid and not expired.
  • Tenant ID matches the Azure AD tenant of the Dynamics environment.
  • The app registration has the required permissions for your Dynamics APIs.
2
Issue panel doesn’t appear
Ensure the Jira project is included in a Connected Item.
The Issue Panel only appears for projects selected in Connected Items. Confirm your mapping includes the project and refresh the Jira issue page.
3
Lookup returns no results
Confirm you’re searching the correct entity and have access in Dynamics.
If you can’t find a record:
  • Verify the Connected Item uses the intended module/entity.
  • Check your Dynamics user permissions for that entity (read access).
  • Try searching by a different field (name, ID, email—depending on your org’s data).
4
Fields look incorrect in Jira
Update the Connected Item field list.
Admins can edit a Connected Item to add/remove fields shown in Jira. After saving, refresh the Jira issue and click Refresh in the panel to update the view.

Security note Only users who have access to the Jira issue and appropriate access in Dynamics can view or link records.
